Allison Cooke Douglas, BA is an adoptive mother and the Education and Training Coordinator with Harmony Family Center’s Adoption Support and Preservation (ASAP) Program. She has been a teacher and trainer for over two decades; starting her career as a Montessori trained early childhood educator. After fostering for several years, Allison eventually become the lead training specialist in Knox County, TN facilitating Parents as Tender Healers (PATH) classes for prospective foster parents. She has been president of the Knox County Foster Care Association, the regional representative to the Tennessee Foster and Adoptive Care Association, served as a team member on a Breakthrough Series Collaborative project focusing on trauma assessment and treatment for children, birth to age 4 and is certified as a trainer for Tennessee’s Building Strong Brains: ACEs Initiative. Allison is also certified in Phase One of The Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics and is working toward completion of both Phase Two (Train the Trainer) and The Neurosequential Model of Education certification. She and her husband Jonathan are grateful to share their lives with their four children.
